Recirculating Aquaculture System
After evaluating and visiting dozens of technologies and processes worldwide, we have chosen to implement a land-based aquaculture technology known as a Recirculating Aquaculture System, commonly referred to as RAS (pronounced “RAZ”). This technology, already deployed commercially in other countries, has proven its effectiveness.
Why this technology ?
The salmon industry undeniably benefits from the innovative solution of Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) as adopted by Samonix. By protecting oceanic ecosystems, this non-invasive process ensures a healthy habitat for our fish and provides high-quality protein to our customers. We prioritize environmental protection, and this technology allows us to recirculate 99% of the farming water, thus limiting our environmental discharge. Our efficient treatment systems enable us to regenerate the water in the tanks every 80 minutes, ensuring optimal water quality.
Cleanliness and traceability
Our advanced filtration and oxygenation processes guarantee a renewal of pure water, completely free of pollutants such as plastic and diseases. Ensuring the total biosecurity of the environment of our salmon, our farming technology allows us to assist their growth from egg to plate. Increased monitoring is maintained throughout the processing period, in order to preserve the quality of clean, pollutant-free water at all times.
Product quality
Free of antibiotics, hormones, pesticides or microplastics, Samonix salmon is raised in a controlled and bio-safe sphere. The continuous recycling of water (99%) guarantees its purity and the absence of pathogens or parasites. The water from the salmon pools is completely regenerated every 80 minutes and always kept at a stable temperature allowing the best conditions for growing a healthy and Salmon. In our closed circuit aquaculture farm, optimal nutrition is adapted to the life cycle of the fish. Their growth flourishes in conditions that best reproduce a healthy and natural habitat.
